BD Falcon FluoroBlok Inserts block light
transmission, simplifying detection of migrating fluorescently labeled cells.
Permit real-time analysis of cell culture compound permeability (1µm),
cell migration (3µm or 8µm), and invasion (8µm). Labeled
cells or compounds can be quantified directly and in real time. Detect and
quantify fluorescently tagged cells or molecules both above and below the
insert membrane without further cell separation, washing, or harvesting. A
microporous membrane blocks light transmission from 490–700nm. For best
results, use with cell culture insert companion plates.
One-piece, seamless roller bottles are manufactured
in an ISO Class 8 (FED-STD-209E Class 100,000/M6.5) cleanroom using a process
that provides high impact resistance. They are compatible with manual or
automatic filling systems. BD Falcon Bottles can be used for both research and
manufacturing applications, including the growing of mammalian cells for
purposes of virus propagation and bioproduct production. Nonpyrogenic bottles
are sterilized by gamma irradiation.
BD Falcon petri flasks have not been tissue culture
treated, providing a surface that is more hydrophobic than a tissue culture
surface and similar to a bacteriological petri dish surface. Canted neck style
with standard polyethylene plug seal caps. Caps are white to distinguish
non-tissue culture from tissue culture treated flasks. Flasks are sterilized by
gamma irradiation. Nonpyrogenic.
These BD Falcon plasma-treated tissue culture flasks
are made of high-quality polystyrene for optical clarity and distortion-free
examination. The vacuum-gas plasma treatment ensures a consistent growth
surface providing optimum cell attachment and maximum yield. BD Falcon Straight
neck and BD Falcon canted neck flasks are supplied with a choice of plug-seal
caps, for use in open or closed incubation, or rigid, phenolic lined caps that
spin on. All flasks, except for 29185-087 and -123, have a frosted writing area
to make labeling fast and easy. Graduations are easy to read in a hood. Flasks

BD Falcon cell scrapers are available in four
convenient sizes, allowing users to select the blade and handle length that
best suits their specific needs. Improved designs to both blade and handle
provide maximum accessibility to the growth surface in a variety of culture
vessels. The pivoting blade provides multiple angles, improving cell removal.
The cross-ribbed handle allows better control while scraping cells, and a
flexible joint improves access into the necks of flasks or roller bottles.

BD Falcon Inserts provide independent access to the
basolateral and apical domains of polar cells for transport studies, cell
migration, and invasion studies. Track-etched polyethylene terephthalate (PET)
membranes have individual cylindrical pores and are amendable for
immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy. Transparent membranes allow
visualization of live cells by light microscopy. High-density translucent
membranes are recommended for transport studies. For best results, use with

These one-piece, BD Falcon seamless roller
bottles feature a shallow indentation at the bottom of the bottle or an EZ grip
deep indentation that creates a handhold for easier pouring. Bottles also
feature sloped shoulders for greater volume recovery when pouring. The neck and
cap design ensures a secure seal with minimal torque. Bottles are tissue
culture treated, nonpyrogenic, and sterilized by gamma irradiation. They are
also compatible with manual or automated filling systems and are tested for

Insert Companion Plate with Lid, Tissue Culture Treated

BD Falcon Tissue culture treated polystyrene
companion plates can be used alone or with BD Falcon cell culture inserts (see
62406-163 series). They have wells with specially designed notches that hold
the insert in place, permitting pipetting into the well while ensuring proper
lid fit. Plates feature a labyrinth lid design and condensation rings to
minimize evaporation and contamination. Individually packaged in peel-open
trays.
These flat, transparent polystyrene BD Falcon dishes
are tissue culture treated for a consistent, hydrophilic surface. Dishes are
nonpyrogenic, noncytotoxic, nonembryotoxic, and sterilized via gamma

These 1-well BD Falcon dishes are manufactured from
crystalline polystyrene tested for USP Class VI cytotoxicity. They have flat,
optically clear surfaces for optimum manipulation and observation. Lids are
designed for aseptic manipulation and consistent venting to maintain
humidification. All surfaces are tissue culture treated and sterilized by gamma

Ideal for growing a variety of primary cells
and cell lines that grow poorly on conventional, negatively charged, standard
tissue culture surfaces. These include tumor cells, endothelial cells, and
hepatocytes. BD Primaria labware provides a unique alternative to traditional
tissue culture treated surfaces. A permanent, stable modification of the
polystyrene surface incorporates a mixture of anionic and cationic functional

Innovative detection systems are adaptable to a wide
variety of custom drug discovery applications. An oxygen sensitive fluorescent
compound (tris 1,7-diphenyl-1,10 phenanthroline ruthenium (II) chloride) is
embedded in a gas permeable and hydrophobic matrix permanently attached to the
bottom of a 96-well or 384-well plate. As oxygen is consumed, the biosensor
fluoresces, providing a signal that can be correlated to cell growth or oxygen
consumption. BD Falcon plates are ideal for primary and secondary screens
measuring viability, toxicity, or antibiotic resistance, as well as for
subcellular systems like oxidative enzymes. Plates allow homogenous
instantaneous detection of oxygen levels, without the need for additional
reagents or steps, and easy kinetic measurements for growth or drug inhibition

situ analysis. They offer an optimized cell culture system featuring a glass
slide with an attached media chamber. Media chamber is easily removed for slide

applications. BD BioCoat variety packs provide convenient and economical
substrates for determining the appropriate extracellular matrix for specific

Multiwell plates with a selection of different ECM proteins and attachment
factors. Insert variety packs contain 24-well inserts with PET membranes having

BioCoat Cellware variety packs are tested for their ability to promote cell

Plates
These BD BioCoat Collagen I Cellware consists of a
family of collagen-coated cultureware products including inserts, micro and
multiwell plates, flasks, coverslips, and culture slides. Convenient,
ready-to-use BD BioCoat Collagen Cellware offers improved cell attachment and
an increased proliferation rate of transfected mammalian cells, primary cells,
and stem cells. Cellware can be used for the culture of PC12 cells, endothelial
cells, hepatocytes, muscle cells, keratinocytes, kidney cells, and more. Cell
culture inserts coated with Fibrillar Collagen I offer a three-dimensional
matrix of native collagen fibrils. The source of Collagen I is rat tail tendon.
Culture flasks with a 25cm2 cell growth area have a volume of 70mL; 75cm2
flasks have a volume of 250mL; 150cm2 flasks have a volume of 600mL; and 175cm2
flasks have a volume of 750mL. BD BioCoat Collagen I Cellware is tested for
ability to promote attachment and spreading of HT-1080 human fibrosarcoma
