The BBL MGIT (Mycobacteria
Growth Indicator Tube) is a rapid, easy-to-use system with high accuracy for
the detection of mycobacteria directly from clinical specimens.
BBL MGIT
tubes use fluorometric technology to increase the ease and speed of reading
results. Using a Wood’s lamp or other long-wave UV light source, tubes are
read daily. Positive tests emit a vivid orange fluorescent glow at the tube
base and at the meniscus; negative tests show negligible or no
glow.
