a plain fire polished finish, sealed to an Erlenmeyer-shaped body. Neck is long
enough to accept a metal or plastic cap, or a cotton plug may be used if
desired. All flasks have durable white ceramic enamel scales to indicate

is permanently marked with an individual serial number and is supplied with a
Certificate of Graduation Accuracy. Graduation ring is blasted on the neck.
Flask is calibrated to contain. Supplied with a marking spot and a ground glass
stopper. These flasks have been carefully selected to meet the requirements for
accuracy, appearance, glass quality, calibration line, and inscriptions of
former NBS Circular 602. Designed from ASTM Specification E288, Class A
serialized requirements. Replacement stopper is 41900R.

approximately 137mm from the bottom of the flask as required in ASTM E1405 and
can be used in ASTM Tests D86 and D447. This size has a heavy-duty neck. The
sidearm on the 250mL size is placed 77mm below the top of the neck at a 75°
angle and can be used with thermometers calibrated for 76mm immersion.

Flasks are used in the analysis of dry shellac and
shellac varnishes. May also be used to determine the total iodine value of
oils, fatty acids, and bodied oils with Rosenmund-Kuhnhenn reagent (ASTM
D1541). The 500mL flask is required in the testing of drying oils for use in
paints and varnishes, either with Wijs solution or Hanus iodine-bromine
